Anna Paulina Luna, who is hoping to win Florida’s 13th District, which is being vacated by Democrat Charlie Crist as he runs for governor, will be at the event along with Trump on December 7.
Tickets for the private reception at the resort in Palm Beach will cost $1,000. The money will be donated to the APL Victory Fund, a fundraising committee consisting of Luna’s official campaign fundraising account and the APL PAC, Florida Politics reported.
Trump announced he will be backing Luna for Florida’s 13th District in a statement in September, describing the Air Force veteran as a “warrior.”
“Anna Paulina Luna is a great fighter who is running for Congress in Florida. She is an Air Force veteran who puts America First, unlike her RINO [Republican in name only] opponents,” Trump said.
“Anna is committed to strong borders, serving our Veterans, and ensuring Florida’s beautiful coastlines are protected. This is an important race because it is ‘key’ to taking back the House.
“Anna is a warrior, she is a winner, and it’s time for all America First Republicans to unite behind her strong campaign. Anna has my complete and total endorsement.”
Luna previously won the GOP nomination and ran against Rep. Crist in 2020, but lost to the Democrat by more than 6 percentage points.
She was also previously the Director of Hispanic Engagement for Charlie Kirk’s conservative group Turning Points USA.
Boost in the Polls
Trump’s endorsement of Luna appears to be benefiting her in the polls.
According to a St. Pete Polls survey conducted between October 23 and 24, more than 36 percent of registered voters said they would back Luna if they had to decide between her and the other potential Republican challengers Audrey Henson (2.1 percent), Amanda Makki (6.4 percent), and Matt Tito (2.7 percent).
When the poll asked again if they would vote for Luna now they know that she is the only candidate endorsed by Trump, the percentage of voters who said they would rose significantly to 62.4 percent.
Those who were previously undecided about who to vote for also decreased when it was noted that Luna is endorsed by Trump, falling from 52.1 percent to 22.2 percent.
Earlier this year, Luna accused one of her previous GOP candidates, William Braddock, of threatening to kill her and said she had filed to get a permanent stalking injunction filed against him.
In September, Pinellas-Pasco Circuit Court Judge Doneene Loar dismissed the injunction request filed by Luna, and no criminal charges have been brought against Braddock, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
