In a tweet sent after the president played “Purple Rain” at his Minneapolis rally, Prince’s estate said they had previously asked the campaign to stop playing Prince’s songs and once again reiterated their request. “President Trump played Prince’s “Purple Rain” tonight at a campaign event in Minneapolis despite confirming a year ago that the campaign would not use Prince’s music. The Prince Estate will never give permission to President Trump to use Prince’s songs,” the tweet said....

The agency’s recommendations about dexamethasone appear alongside a wider set of guidelines regarding the effectiveness of corticosteroids in treating COVID-19 patients. Its guidance relies on findings included in a preliminary report from a large clinical trial that evaluated the effects of dexamethasone in more than 2,100 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19. Attorney General Letitia James’ office confirmed in a court filing on Monday that it had issued subpoenas seeking testimony and documents from former President Trump, Donald Trump Jr. and Ivanka Trump as part of a civil investigation into the family’s business practices. Lawyers for the Trumps filed a motion on Monday seeking to quash the subpoenas. It accused James of attempting to obtain testimony that could then be used against the family in a parallel criminal investigation being overseen by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, who was sworn in on Saturday....

Bloomberg, whose net worth is about $60 billion, has come under fire for his highly controversial “stop and frisk” policing strategy, which was implemented when he was New York’s mayor from 2002 to 2013. The policy is now known to have disproportionately targeted and harmed minority communities. Although Bloomberg has apologized for the policy and claimed he worked to end stop and frisk by the end of his time as mayor, recently resurfaced clips from 2013 and 2015 show that he strongly defended the policy in his final year in the job and years later....
