The Department of Justice asked a federal judge to hold Trump’s office in contempt of court after fears he still has not returned all top secret materials removed from the White House in January 2021. More than 100 documents, including those marked top secret, were later seized by federal agents from Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in August....

Iowa is a key state in the early stages of a presidential race as it is the first in the nation to indicate a preference for the Oval Office. A poll from The Des Moines Register released before Trump’s rally on Saturday, October 9 showed that 53 percent of Iowans approved of him. There have also been other potentially positive factors for Trump. Two leading bookmakers, BetOnline and Betfred, placed him as the favorite to win the 2024 presidential election on Tuesday....

Trump is accused by his critics of not taking seriously enough the Russian threat after its undermining of the 2016 election through hacking, disinformation, and other cyber warfare. The U.S. intelligence community is warning that Russia is attempting the same for 2020. At an infamous press conference in Finland last year, alongside Russia’s President Vladimir Putin, Trump downplayed the conclusions of his intelligence agencies that the Kremlin interfered in the election and appeared to believe Putin’s denial....

The ex-president first announced in October plans to launch Truth Social, and the app is now listed on Apple’s App Store with a launch date of February 21—President’s Day. That date has since been removed from the listing, but an unnamed source familiar with the project told Reuters that February 21 remains the planned date of launch. The app, created by the Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG), appears to look very similar in design to Twitter based on screenshots on the App Store....

Ibarra underwent surgery Sunday after his fibula was fractured by a hard tackle from Andres Andrade in Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Leon and will miss the rest of the season. “The operation was completed in a satisfactory manner, and I’m very happy with the procedure for Renato,” said Rafael Ortega, the Guadalajara-based doctor who performed the surgery. “Surely in three months he’ll be returning to the fields.” Andrade, who used to play for America, called Ibarra to apologize and clarify he hadn’t intended harm....

Cheadle and Soderbergh are about to release their most recent collaboration No Sudden Move, a ’50s-set ensemble crime film, tomorrow on HBO Max. The film has Soderbergh going back to his roots of directing crime films and thriller films like Traffic, Contagion, and Logan Lucky. The new film follows a string of movies with gimmicky filming techniques and straight-to-streaming releases by the director including Unsane, High Flying Bird, The Laundromat, and Let Them All Talk....

Conservatives are basking in the television wrangling, saying it’s proof of Lemon’s liberal agenda. In the now-viral clip, Lemon asks the expert “what effect climate change has on this phenomenon.” Jamie Rhome, acting director of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) National Hurricane Center, tried to redirect Lemon’s focus. “We can come back and talk about climate change at a later time.
